I forgot that the comments were being screened. Anyways, Good effort guys (Pat & Kin), I hope the ad served its purpose-Making the client happy (with their smiles reaching the back ears).. But with this kind of ad, as a creative team, you guys are NOT making it, and never will if you keep on doing this kind. A little advise, and please put it your headshells:
1-Never Say what you show, Never Show what you say
(I know, said it before)
2-Twisted Visuals, Staight lines, OR Twisted Lines, Straight Visuals.
If your ad falls into these Two simple facts, then you’re on the right track, remember that. You’ll thank me later on:-)

hmm.. well a straight forward ad for starters..however.. the copy and the visual dont work toghether somehow. “Your target, easy to reach” and the golf idea….
another way of looking at it. it takes quite a few hits to get a golf ball so close… moreover there is a possiblity of hitting it too hard to miss the target.. unless otherwise your a proffessional Golfer.. this is just another angle to it..
The ad may have served its purpose.. could have worked better on the visuals..

Totally agree with Kre8 an’ Adch. As for my input? The whole idea is spoon fed. Better luck next time.

C’mon guys…I dont normally criticize, but this one really looks like it was done in 10 minutes. Logically speaking, if that is a path that the ball has made, dont u think the ball has to be after the text and maybe even in the hole. That way u show that (a) the ball has rolled and created the path and (b) that you have actually reached your goal. This way, it looks like the ball has popped out of the hole and rolled towards the golf club. I cant speak arabic, but maybe the english should read ” Your easy to reach target”. Lastly, your logos are way too big. A little breathing room all around would be great.

If your target is so easy to reach, why do you even need Al Ahlia??

i saw this ad in Salmiah mounted on a rooftop. i understand everybody’s point of view, but i kinda saw this concept differently. It was very clear to me that Al Ahlia is creating this safe path with 0% risk to reach your goal.. straight to the point message. am i too far from the rational?

and i don’t see a problem every now and then for some spoon fed ideas inova8 :)

At first sight i thought this is a way too spoon fed idea…but then again i’m with lolita…why not from time to time have a spoon fed idea as long as it reaches the target?

But lolita, the distance is so narrow you don’t even need this tunnel to drive the ball into the hole. This is Golf for blind people!!! Where is the challenge that Al Ahlia is helping you overcome??

Spoon fed indeed, that was the whole result that the client was seeking. Some explanations: the Golf Club is the investor, the Ball is his/her investment, the Hole is the Goal and the Ready Made Path is the facility that Al Ahlia offer you to reach your goals, with no effort or advanced skills or risks (which apply to their services) and no effort in analyzing the ad to understand (which delivers a clear message). Since its a straight forward Ad. and message, we cant think “what if you hit too strong or too slow” its a clear idea here.
The Ad did the job though and it was easily understood, thanks for the critics though, appreciate ‘em.

adchemist, mind me to ask you why do I need to go to an art school? What or how can an art school help me being better in what I currently do as a profession? I am an Art Director amigo, not an Artist (painter or sculptor like). Art schools are not for me or for what I do in this business. You clearly have nothing to do with advertising and have zero background on what are required to make a person creative or art director, that for, your comments in this blog on a professional level (to me) or advices DON’T COUNT, so do not be surprised or get mad if i skip your “technical advices” from now on.
