Looks like a toy racing car ad for me…(“Tamiya”)

  2. adchemist

Shaaaaaaaaaaaaame on BBDO, Shame on all designers in Kuwait too….. the worst Illustration, I’ve ever seen used in an ad:(

  3. george

Is this grade-1 or grade-2 school illustration?

  4. Samer

Let’s not jump conclusions guys, i beleive impact has a logical rational behind this illustration..

  5. asaad

اعلان يفشل ماتوقعت ان في سنة 2007 في اعلانات تكون بالهمستوى سنة 1980 ممكن ينبلع بس الحين ،،،، قوية

  6. "P"

    And what might that be???

  7. kre8tive

… that this is what you’d get from an agency without real artists (illustrators) involved.

  8. Samer

anybody from impact to help me out?:)

  9. kre8tive

forget it Samer, the guys are too ashamed for cover up.. in the meantime, don’t anyone agree that they should make the headline:

“REPLACE YOUR CREATIVE DEPARTMENT WITH A NEW ONE”

  10. adchemist

Krea8ve, you rock with the amended headline LOL. I feel sorry about the so called CREATIVE DIRECTOR or (F)ART DIRECTORS THERE LOL

Guys, could it be an ad targeting the 2nd kuwaiti generation to replace their cars?? i was thinking last night about it and i remembered some of the ads i saw in my friends archive back in the mid 70′s and they looked like this, exactly the same illustration style, feel and look.
I mean check the man holding the old car (2nd generation) and the young man (3rd generation) holding a new one.
Donno, i might be wrong but i think with this illustration, Chevrolet is bringing back to the 2nd generation the memorie of the good old days of buying/replacing cars that it used to be projected thru these kind of ads/illustrations.

  12. adchemist

Come on Lolita, you think people still remember those crappy mid 70s Ad done by the same people, or how many of those people are existing in this country now! Weared strategy to go…

IT IS FINALLY A VERY CRAPPY 40s ad in this MODERN WORLD. Halas

agree with kre&tive for once! this ad is such a shame for Impact. If the idea is to go with an Illustration, then go all the way! this is neither here nor there. Th ead looks lie a layout that was executed as the final ad. Actually, I can imagine the scenario:
Agency: This is only a layout, we’ll have to shoot.
Client: Shoot? whay, this looks wonderful!
    Agency: As you wish x!({-^!
Too bad BBDO. This is really shameful!

  14. Rotgold

Maybe the shooting got cancelled bcs the photographer was ill ;-)

  15. Just me

I bet this was done on purpose just to get the attention…couldn’t find any other reason

  16. kre8tive

OR maybe they don’t have the budget for an illustrator? I know those guys at Impact are stinggy..lmfao, could’ve asked an asian dude to make a decent drawing for like kd50? come on…

  17. Whale

This ad looks a bit childish to me.. would appeal to children more..

  18. Zex1

Honestly… I can’t imagine any explanation to this except the client not wanting to spend any money on it and asked for it at 6pm and wanted it in the press the day after…
Still… Too bad for whoever worked on it…

  19. kre8tive

Different question now, anybody has any updates on the CBK pitch? What happened? People any news on this one?

  20. Zex1

I know we didn’t pitch and who is pitching… but no news on who won…

  21. CLIENT-F-UP

Maybe, just like many who work in advertising would know, the client once again dictated the work and since they “obviously went to advertizing schools and got degrees in this field” (sarcasm) they know better. And dictated this piece of shit leaving the poor art director soul less and crying in a corner wondering why he is in this profession to begin with. But maybe this has never happened to any of you advertizing masters in which case I personally want to be lectured by your superior beings and work where you work where you get to F the client up the A and not visa vesra !!!

  22. kre8tive

Best of luck to the agencies who pitched and congrats to the winner.. Now I am off for a shoot somewhere in Europe but, will try to hit few lines when possible, so be good Boys & Girls, catch you later!

  23. adchemist

    CRE8TIVE=MAAAAAARK…I got it man:)

  24. ob1-w@n

There is no justification whatsoever with this ad. It’s ugly and the (child’s) horrible illustration doesn’t show the message at all (Who is the car dealer here?) And considering it came from one of the biggest agencies in Kuwait, it just reflects the dismal standards (or lack of) of advertising in Kuwait. Agencies here are (for fear of losing the account) to easy to pander to the whims of the client, regardless of how tasteless and irrelevant they are.

  25. creaxative

I think they had it lying around from the 60′s and decided to use it now.

  26. ziad

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
” sorry cant express more ”
