Seriously? You didn’t get it? Maybe that’s why you didn’t like it!

I think this ad can backfire on breast cancer programs. You see, once a lady is diagnosed with breast cancer, her fear is to lose her breast(s) in fear of losing “womanhood” and “motherhood”. It is not an easy step for any lady to take yet we convince her that she does not lose her womanhood by losing her breasts whilst this ad states that she is.

I agree with rampurple. Whoever came up with this idea should know where the “womanhood” is located. who’s the agency behind this?

ah… I can only say that seems like the agency knows nothing about breast cancer… and nor does the breast cancer association in Q8… poor women…

i think the message was read wrong.. what i feel they are tryin to convey is that.. women must do thier regular tests, self check up’s etc.. so that they dont come to a stage where they lose thier womanhood and motherhood.. Breast cancer does not necessarily mean removal.. if detected early, can be cured with medication.

i agree with whale. i think the ad means that you should take care of them, and do regular tests to watch out for breast cancer which creeps up on many women.
i don’t think that breasts are the source of womanhood though…

They had good intentions with this ad, however the message imples that if you get cancer and loose ur breasts then you have lost your womanhood and your motherhood.
My mother had cancer and she lost a breats…getting cancer is not something we can see coming, sure there are ways to prevent it but it can still happen.
Loosing your breasts to cancer does not make you less of woman and CERTAINLY NOT less of a mother.
