  1. مدلقم = small
    يوز = Walnut

    so it mean

    ” not everything small is walnut “

    I don’t understand why FT is insisting on positioning itself with an old Kuwaiti image. One can be Kuwaiti but modern, especially if you’re an ISP. FT’s image should rather be modern, aspiring for the young and young at heart. BTW, now that we understand the meaning of the headline, what is the message behind this ad? Anyone?

    مدلقم = round not small

    I think the message is clear. Not every round thing is a walnut. From the photo of a cracked egg, I think they are trying to say not every round thing is as solid as a walnut. wa allah o aalam!!!
    Good try, but complecated.

    Correction:

    مدلقم = round shape

    I don’t think FT is positioning it self with an old kuwaiti image, i believe they are trying to say that they are a LOCAL company with a heritage and true values in a time the competitors are way far from that.

    Something like HSBC bank ads, local and understand your needs…well i guess..

  6. weird…

    I think FT are incapable of communicating thier objective in terms of message delivery to the consumers/readers professionally, i think they lack the understanding of communication and marketing, i have witnessed this in thier following ad as well, which was the amazon offer , and now with the broken egg. The othe rmajor problem is i dont understand why are they using old kuwaiti sayings when they are a company which is based on “technology” i.e. any message they should advertise for should be modern to fit with who they are, not to forget that old sayings are no longer “in” or considered , therefore not understood, in conclusion their ads are absolutely cracked. Quality net are winning over FT by far (although they lack creativity and concepts) but they are simply winners bcz thier message is direct and clear to everyone

    Small / Round / Round shape… people don’t seem to agree on the meaning of that word. That’s quite a complicated ad, we don’t know what yet the message is. Who did this ad? can you please explain?

  9. wits

    I don’t know about you all but I found it interesting. Like many I did not understand the saying, so I went around and asked ppl and discussions started…..the clever thing about it is that I ended up sharing the ad with others and ask qts…….

    A friend said it’s like the arabic saying “not everything shiny is gold”

    …. So they should have shown a picture of a golden egg with cracks:-)
