what’s that guysss? why that? what’s the concept?
I don’t know how that ad approved, guys it’s better to think out of the box? Creative work didn’t mean ur ads approved from the client, i hope to stop that bad work (like 70’s ad)

  2. Hamad

    To Mind Share:
Im the designer who worked on this ad from A to Z i just want you to give me a more constructive critique of the AD. Well what don’t you understand about the AD. Both the execution and concept are clear.

  3. Honestly I think its clean and simple.

  4. a2b

Hamad, you mean ” TO MIND TALK” :)

  5. nice clean and clear.

  6. MIND TALK

The first thing, i didn’t attack any agency..
The second thing i was sure it’s a designer work not creative or director work, because really there’s no concept and it’s nothing, when u put the old chair pic in the price tag of the new chair that’s mean the old chair price equal the new chair price and u can replace ur old chair with the new one without paying any thing (that’s mean u miss the trade in value and make the midas image low), but i still don’t know how the creative director let that happen..

    bad concept …
    bad art direction …
take the image from istock images.com (it’s really shame)

  8. The Frog

I like it. I think it does what it needs to do. Simple and to the point.

    To Mind Talk:
You said that they should “think outside the box”, I’m just wondering how you would have done it? Just wondering…

  9. Jess

Im sure there is more to come. Midas always has great ads

  10. MIND TALK

    To the frog…
We got boring from saying ” simple and To the point “, if u don’t know how to comment the campaign, it’s better to leave the advertising field, that design was so tradition work and didn’t match with midas image, i think u r working on that agency. and if u don’t know what i ment by “think out the box” -), it’s really shame on u to be her.
it’s better to learn from my previous comments to that campaign

    To Mind Talk:
I’m actually in Travel Insurance, I just came across the blog earlier today. When I said “to the point” I meant that I got the idea behind the ad. I just like my ads to advertise the product or service as needed.

This one gets the point about trading in your furniture across well, i thought. But I’m just a consumer, what does my opinion matter.

I really just wanted to know what you would have done, that’s the only reason I asked. I wasn’t trying to argue. Thanks for explaining :(

    Oh, and I’m male BTW.

  12. Mohammed Zeidan

Great ad …. Straight, direct to the point am sure this ad will get excellent results for Midas ….
Creative thinking …… Good job ya Hamad.

  13. blogger

    i’m sure from one thing
there’s no body knows what’s meaning of to the point and what’s meaning of the real creative ads, that ad actually can’t worth to discuss about it or to put in this website, because didn’t has any any kind of creativity, or any kind of advertising sense, i’ll not comment more because really “mind talk” said the right comments

What Godin Knew.. And a short note to “NEW”

    To Hamad:
“ The best themes seem so natural that it’s hard to imagine they weren’t the first idea on the legal pad” Fred Senn

I’ll start with a note addressed to the blogger used the nickname “NEW”, who attacked me and my last note on Gulf Insurance Campaign. To “ NEW’ I say, next time please try to read more carefully, understand if you can and follow the note if you have “real stuff” to say beside curse words.

On Midas ad, in his note pad, Godin wrote once about what he called “ forces for mediocrity” that align every time to resist any effort of progress. During my work, I never faced clearer indications of forces of mediocrity as I met on this blog. Almost every single effort in the industry is met with negative comments, curse word, ridicule, silliness, character attack on personal and corporate levels, disrespect (To creative team and agencies) and all kind of demoralization. In short, the ones who really “ have no real stuff’ to share converted this good medium to their arena, the arena of forces of mediocrity. My question to all of them: What are you trying to achieve?

In Midas case, we see a designer who created an ad that has a concept, clear message and a related visual. That all an ad needs. And now to the real stuff, for those who have courage and not only loud voices, here is the challenge:
    1. Mind Talk: We all here to learn, and you seem so confident about you solid knowledge and apparently you have a good will towards stopping “BAD” work. Please explain to us about what box you are referring to and why we have to think out of it. In your way there, give us an idea about what is creativity and how to reach it. And finally, think twice before you attack a designer, an art director and creative director in one note, there is always a slight chance that “You” are the one who is wrong.
    2. To Blogger: I am sure that you reached the result that nobody knows what “ to the point” and “ creativity mean. Please join Mind Talk in his quest and educate us on both and I promise you that you will receive allot of appreciation. One last thing, please leave the evaluating what worth and what not worth to be showcased on the blog to the professionals standing behind this blog and I an confident they are more than capable to do the job.

In short, please stop aligning at the side of forces of mediocrity and give your fellow creative people a bit more support (with constructive comments) and the industry will improve…amen

    To Nasser,
Really u don’t know what u r saying, just u tired ur fingers to type all of that for nothing, and what it appear from ur comments, u just copy informations from creativity book and put her, stop appearing ur self as consultant in creativity, if u want defend about this ad, u have to answer my comments and try to discuss it which i mentioned up (old chair in the price tag= the new chair price and other comments), have a look to ur whole comments, u’ll find one thing, u still giving a very general comments and didn’t try to defend about the work, because u don’t have a clear note, it’s better to take a look in the mirror to see the facts and stop saying anything without thinking… and if u want know what’s meaning to think out of the box, it’s better to leave the field and try to understand what’s the meaning of the real creativity… i think u r not on the advertising field so u r talking like that

  17. blogger

Nasser, all ur messages r long and didn’t contain any useful informations, ur comments r out of the discussion, i don’t know why u avoided to discuss the ad from creativity and art direction side in details and didn’t answer the comments, don’t write any words and comments just to defend or to share, we r here to discuss the ad not to attack each other as u said, u considered that discussion is attack, because u couldn’t able to defend about the ad and feel creativity lack in ur mind to answer the comments which the other mentioned. i got shocked how there’s people like u giving comments in this website, even what u r ( designer or art director or creative director or other occupation) it’s better to learn one lesson ( how to discuss logically and convince by educated information)

  18. nothing beats Ikea.

  19. Mohammed Zeidan

    Looooooool…… So funny

  20. I would suggest that when u are looking for real constructive criticism, do put the text copy in English, so that you get an idea on how the non-Arabs look and feel about it.

  21. blogger

Really i got shocked when i heard NASSER is a CD not a designer, i want ensure from that roumer, is iit really or not? i hope any body who knows to answer me, because if that true, it’s better to close the website which allow to some one like him to blog

  22. comments

I hope guys to stop abusing each other, it’s shame on u, we r here to disuss, whatever u like it or not, just tell ur opinion frankly without attacking any person, Thanx guys

  23. one

It’s better if the idea was more clearer, the layout isn’t bad, i wish to see better in the next days, who don’t have mistake, can’t learn

  24. Naser

    More on mediocrity…

another long comment dedicated to Blogger

In my previous notes on this blog (total 3), I tried to find a common ground with intelligent visitors to discuss creative issues by using objectivity as tool to evaluation. And I knew that many are not ready for it, because objectivity will leave those who have nothing beside dirty words, trivial arguments and silly characters out of comments and out of this blog.

What I have chosen to drop out of my previous post, and I believe it is relevant to Mind Talk and blogger replies, that arrogance, ignorance and predictability are characteristics of mediocrity. But the most important element is predictability, and accordingly, no other form of reply was expected.

    To Mind Talk:
You were mistaken in almost every assumption you made. My answer to your comment, and (I am not defending the ad; it doesn’t need that) is: the fact that you couldn’t see the concept behind the ad is not because there is no concept behind it. It could be simply because you don’t possess the ability to comprehend and understand creative work. Think of that before you fire your arms.
Your illusions, assumptions and conclusions are based on thin layer of “ I believe I know better), here is the bad news; your comment shows that you don’t, the good news : you might be able to learn.
Finally, I am waiting for your response to my challenge.

    To Blogger:
Regarding discussing creativity and art direction side in details, I tried to find any clue about that in your note, without any success. So, back to our challenge; why you don’t join efforts with Mind Talk and debate the ad from conceptual and art direction point of view and I promise you that someone out there will reply. I totally agree with you that learning is something good, and believe me I am trying to do that here on this site, so please let your logical, convincing and academic (I believe this is what you meant with “educated”) information light our way to better creative results.

Lat minute note: dear blogger, I believe many shocks awaiting you along the path. My counter suggestion is to leave the site on, it would
be a huge loss for the creative community, don’t you agree?!

For Comments: Thank you for your positive thinking, I hope some
    people will listen to you

  25. To Blogger:

I think u r not on the advertising field

    Be coooooolllllllllllllll

    ya man

    best regards hamad nice work
