Just out of curiosity does the title Kuwait’s Most Awarded Agency mean the agency with the most awards or has that definition changed recently?

Dear Louai,
Congratulations on your achievement, it is quite a great record for Paragon at the KAAA. However, the numbers you have released are not accurate. Horizon.FCB/Kuwait office won 5 awards at last year’s KAAA, in addition to 10 last month. I am not sure about the other networks, but according to your count, Horizon.FCB/Kuwait is the most awarded agency since the inception of the KAAA with a total of 15 awards. Congratulations again to you and your team.

So… Who’s Who? Louai of Paragon claimed himself the MOST awarded agency since KAAA inception in 2005 and now Joe is saying it’s not accurate and Horizon/FCB Kuwait is the MOST awarded agency!?!

I don’t think there is such title (Kuwait’s Most Awarded Agency) well, that exists only with Paragon. What I know is that there is Agency of the Year title, especially in creative awards like Cannes, Clio and the rest. Well, KAAA if you want to add.

Mark…professionally speaking; the most awarded agency still means the agency that won the biggest total number of awards. Personally speaking…don’t you feel any shame at all? Pointing the finger at others while you win with copy cat ads and ghost ads, preaching one thing while practicing another.

Dear Joe,
Please read the press release more carefully. the recent number of KAAA awards (4) in addition to the previous total number of the awards (KAAA and Non-KAAA) positions Paragon as Kuwait’s most awarded agency. But yes Horizon is the “agency of the year” in KAAA book.

Impartial
But if an agency has a total number of awards that equals 14 (KAAA and non KAAA) and another has 15 only in KAAA, doesn’t that mean that the latter has more awards? That’s simple maths Louai. And in this case, JWT will probably have more awards than FCB & Paragon combined… Strange count!
Jul 15th, 2008
Louai Alasfahani
Impartial…our current number of awards is more than 48 forty eight and the funny part is unlike the examples you gave (JWT and Horizon FCB) we didn’t participate or win with copy cat ads or ghost ads to achieve this result. so use your imagination or use a calculator or whatever you want to use that makes you happy but the fact is that a smaller, local agency established less than seven years back is Kuwait’s most awarded agency with original work ;) live with it.
Jul 15th, 2008
Impartial
But Louai, nowhere in the press release you mention your glamorous 48 awards. Your press release claims that you are the most awarded agency in Kuwait because you have won 14 awards at the KAAA. Stop manipulating the public with your false claims. On the other hand, have you made an extensive research before you announce that you are the most awarded agency in Kuwait, or is it just an assumption? If my memory serves me right, you have won at the KAAA two years in a row on the same obnoxious anti-drug posters. So please do not preach ethics when yours are more than questionable. Get a life phony.

So Louai, you mean to say that FCB and JWT participated with copycat & ghost ads at the awards? Wow! That’s a heavy accusation, man! And You won 48 awards in total, now just a question here, any of those awards are considered “real” awards from “real” competitions? I mean, what is KAAA and Sumo, I mean Summit Awards compared to Clio, LIA, Cannes and Epica where I’m afraid FCB and JWT won awards from? Have you won any of these?

Impartial…ignorance is not an excuse; before spreading rumors go out and buy the KAAA book (its 10 KD per copy by the way); the book features all the work for 2005 and 2006 and then you would see for yourself that we only won ONCE for this artwork in the same award…so get your facts straight and get a life you laying loser and change the phony nick name you are very far from being Impartial.

Adrinaline…if we have only few clients and are winning all these awards that means we have a higher quality control than most agencies don’t we ;) imagine if we had more clients…that would only result in more categories to win within the same award ceremony and look at the ratio from our past and you can predict the future. Any way don’t worry we are into a specific niche and we believe in quality not quantity and unlike so many agencies out there (you know who you are) who have 1,000,000’s of clients because they offer free artwork, free adaptations, free research, free press releases and discounts starting from 35% keep your clients we are proud of ours as they belive in quality :*

LOUAI ALASFAHANI:
Am not form the ad industry but i believe that you win awards for “Creativity” and not for “higher quality control”.
I imagine if you had more clients….the result would be even more of the “higher quality control” and if i were you i would start asking creative agencies to outsource the “quality control” part to me so they can concentrate on their core business which is “Creativity”
You know.. its like “leave us drive and enjoy the ride” or what ever the slogan on the back of the KPTC buses is.

Jung von Matt [m] is the world No. 1 Agency ( recently rewardet ) and that not without a reason, the Guys from Germany simply rock the house, each and every single ” Agency ” here in Kuwait should run and hide. When you compare your work with their performance i would consider retirement as an option!.
Kuwait is ” Desert Area” when it comes to creativity but watch out, Jung von Matt will be available from 2009 onwards here in Kuwait and Destroy whats crawling around here!.
Looking forward for the competition ( we dont have Competitors, only unsuccessful contenders ) !!!.

Dear Louai,
And I know what I saw. The KAAA cannot spell agency names right, they even make people win awards in the wrong categories, so please don’t rely on that book I know what I saw, I was in all 3 KAAA events. Yes I am impartial, and this means saying the raw truth which obviously you cannot handle. Your answer is totally irrelevant and you did not answer my other questions. And please, don’t say original work, nothing is original, for God sake you can’t even stop copying yourself with snake shoes ads. The best award your agency has is having the most irrational, emotional, unbalanced, impulsive, turbulent, weird, and judgmental leader. Here you go, you just crossed the 48 awards! Why don’t you do the ad industry a favor, and move to PR, or theatre. Come to think of it, you’ll make a good clown. Let these category suffer from your presence for a few years, because obviously you are unable to embrace positive change and no one really respects what you have to say. Everything is just personal, and your ego man is so huge, this planet cannot take it. Cheers!

u kno wat i found funny and shameful?that the managing partner of this agency is wasting his time here, checkin posts and coming up with responses to them and dissing everyone else’s work. Now, a ‘respected’ agency would learn to take criticism well, while not insulting anyone elses work. how do u expect any company to respect ur work and ur ‘ethics’ if they come and see ur childish comments here?

Jung von Matt will surley survive since many requests from here are with us allready, dont forget how many German Companies are present in the Middle East and Kuwait and how many decition taking Managers are Westeners and would love to work with world award winning pros!.
Many companys are just sick and tired of waisting their money with wannabe experts in marketing and advertising, the demand for successful Media companies is big and growing day by day, therefor im not worried a second about our future here. You find a list of partners we represent on our website [m] crosscheck if these companies are operaiting here in the middle east as well and then count 1 & 1 together.

If any one is really interested in making a difference and having a real conversation then why don’t we meet?
Why hide behind nick names?
There is a professional organization in Kuwait it is called the IAA you can become a member by simply filing up an application and paying an annual membership fee then you can discuss all the industry related issues that are bothering you and contribute towards commencing the positive change…
That is if you really want to employment solutions and not just blowing steam.
We can at least have a real face to face debate; but for that to happen you need to reveal yourselves and stop hiding behind masks and nicknames…what are you so afraid of anyway?

Bringer of Light…I saw your website and it has good work; however please note that Kuwait is a price sensitive market and as such the best work by the best agency doesn’t always win a pitch it is more likely that the cheapest agency that is offering the highest media discounts and no agency fee and free artwork that could wins :( but the market is big enough to accommodate more agencies and you will never know till you try so welcome to Kuwait.

1, 2 ,3 or even 100 awards…. the point is at the end of the day is:”WHO IS MAKING MONEY????”!!!
we come to talk about awards here and awards there, but really now…. i know small agencies that are making more money than the large self appointed “Best Creative/communication agncy”, and they have more business than them.
i think we all lost touch of what this blog is all about. i think that awarded or not, we should look at each creative layout that is being produced.
we also have to look at the small designer that is outputting these creative concepts and not being awarded for that!
Louai, congrats to you and to all teh team of Paragon.
Joe, I have a soft spot for FCB and i wish you all the best.
the rest of you…….. would you please just let them enjoy the moment…
