  1. I for one personally like this campaign

  2. wakim

A bold move I should say to change your identity color for a cause! Bravo to the client on his courageousness and I hope this was the agency’s idea!

  3. which agency did that ?
i really like the picture angle

and do you have the rest ?

  4. ang

  6. adchemist

Is in’t it bit Graphic, somebody Shooting, pointing Gun on us readers…. Understand its a sport thingy but again…”GUN” Guys… and since when Table Tennis become an Outdoor Game???? Two a ..ONE sky…

    >Yawn in Chinese<

  7. Fix

Where the hell is creativity in supporting losers, as far as i know Kuwait only won one middle in the history of the olympics.

  8. Natasha

Well done impact BBDO, fantastic idea, fantastic execution. Bold move.

  9. Jaggo

I was told the idea was from the client not the agency.

  10. Impact BBDO, nice work!

  11. waterboy

I read in the papers that it came from the agency… but it takes a brave client to agree to this. I agree, well done all round.

  12. joe

    Nice.

  13. Sami

All Kuwait support its Olympic players…great idea from the advertising agency

  14. Mohammed

great work …. i like it

The “idea” of supporting the Kuwaiti Blue team at the Olympics is patriotic, and the “idea” of switching from RED to BLUE is politics, this is normal and there’s NOTHING NEW, (ie. Shaquille O’ Neal and Charles Barkley wearing their own team’s Basketball Jersey with the number 32 in support for Magic Johnson)… The first two ads were OK as layout and that’s it, the rest of the series? It just killed it and made it look cheap and petty. Creativity? NONE. I wonder why some people here call it great work, where there’s nothing great in this, Pity. Good Luck on the team anyways.

  16. mind talk

    i’m with KRE8TIVE… U R RIGHT
    where’s the creative?

  17. Hassan C.D

I believe they should’nt have messed with the color of the logo. In my opinion this dilutes the logo of Watanyia. Good ad but weak point in terms of branding.

  18. AlRashid

    “kre8tive” estreeee7! yqolik eli ma y6ol il3anab 7amth 3ana yqol!

  19. holla

Wataniya… a slightly less lame world.

  20. lion

    This is not creative work…
u have to seperate between encourging the kuwaiti team and the ur identity, iAA membership

  21. Aitchbee

Great work, and tremendous courage in applying it “Mitsugi no michi”, with purity of purpose, all the way through. If I had to nitpick, I would’ve asked the Agency to use more than one sky backdrop. Other than that, great work, great concept, and great courage in executing the creative.
As for it not being creative, puhleaaase. This is such a break from the ordinary on a corporate level, that everyone is talking about it, and it is achieving the result of bringing recognition to both the company, and the athlete’s being promoted. Also, when they do return to the red colour, it will be noticable ,and will actually aid branding by reminding everyone that Wataniya is the RED company oncemore. The temporary shift will make us notice red all over again.
As far as it diluting the brand, and breaking the “rules” etc. Oh my god they broke the branding rules, mercy me, what are we to do. Rules are for the weak, the talentless, and for those who cannot think for themselves. Oh, and by the by, rules are meant to be broken; if they weren’t, they would’ve been classified as laws.

  22. True, but I guess wataniya’s emblem is strong enough. and this blue version is not staying forever.

  23. Jaggo

This campaign might have made sense if Wataniya was still a Kuwaiti company but at the moment its Qatari owned (Qtel) so maybe they should have turned purple?

  24. kre8tive

You turn Purple after when you got beaten up too hard, Jaggo. They rather stick with Blue ;-) Lol
