I think it's cheap coming from NBK – if it was any of the other banks you would understand but from NBK it's just unprofessional and downright tacky!

well Rasha, it all depends from which angle you're looking at the situation.. it's a double edge sword kind of ad. some people thought it was a bold move from NBK, even a rude one to release such an ad in such a situation (GB incident) WHILE some people thought that NBK made the right move with this piece of communication to ease people down during this critical period (you are in good hands since 1952) and that he always delivers what he promises and always up to his claims (best bank in the middle east)

Thanks Taj – yes it's bold, yes it's rude, yes they are the best bank in Kuwait (not 100% sure about the Middle East) – but the reason I think it's tacky is because they had nothing to ease their customers down about – they were OK – also the timing was all wrong – I think this ad would've been better to come out around now when things have settled down a bit – not in the heat of the crisis – I found that unprofessional and it lowered them in my view – but hey I guess no PR is bad PR.

RASHA i think if you evaluate the AD from the target audience point of view and according to the main ad objectives
may be you will think again

It's not true, They give the worst customer service and charge the highest rates amongst all the banks in Kuwait. The bank's foundations are run by corrupt people. Do not deal with them, I changed banks now I'm happier.
I think you should define BEST, based on what standards? According to who?
Note that in Kuwait and the Middle East exaggerate things and blow them out of proportion, everybody here is "the best" and/or "an expert"
