Many Questions Come to Mind Here

A lot of people in the market, from both the agency side as well as the client side, seem to be frustrated by The Avenues mall. Many are complaining about how The Avenues always recreates rules and regulations in regards to the space rented for booths. The rules can vary from things such as how the booth has to change location on a monthly basis, or what the height of your booth can be, what the design of your booth should be limited to, where you can place your booth according to your industry, and the list just goes on.

Many companies are also frustrated by the fact that some companies seem to have priority to others or are exempted from the rules.

Many questions come to mind here to The Avenues:

1. What are these ever-changing rules based on?
2. Has The Avenues considered consulting professionals to assist them to regulate the situation?
3. Is The Avenues aware that they will not always be the #1 shopping mall in Kuwait?
4. Is it part of the IAA’s job to study and monitor such things and then act upon it?

  1. send an official request to the IAA (with the details) and you will get an official answer (with the details).

The truth that there are no unconventional mediums in Kuwait. the day you will have an open/creative market we will use less the mall branding … and everything will follow…

And my friend its all about offer and demand :)

for real louay, what are u going to do, u dont need the detail given u know very much what are we talking about, and deal with avenues urself….right here right now i challenge you on this blog to come out and say what can the IAA do. why keep it hidden and formal, every one here is from the industry and im sure that the same thought wonders in them, not to mention the many rest that probably remembered there is an IAA until u just brought it up.

and please,. avoid lingo's ad chasing around the bush. clear cut, being an IAA official just answer what are the steps, power etc u will take.

    thanks

  4. questions 1,2 and 3 should be addressed to the management of the Avenues.

question 4, No it is not the IAA job to study or monitor such things "the mall"

i think that if you live under dad's roof then you live by dad's ruls ;)meaning there are other malls out there if you dont like the way they are treating you.

NB. your Boss is paied to solve this kind of problems for you, NOT the IAA or me ;p

too much "details" for an answer :p point taken, point made. the last i recall was that the whole point for a group of companies to form an "association" is to associate thoughts and controls to regulate something. and if the point of lifting the bar in the advertising and communication industry is the sole purpose of this "association", doesn't the most integral part of our work "the media" should be in the same game? … because i see that the "media" do represent half the board members….unions and associations existed to avoid the statement u made about dads roof, but i can tell u this, its a buyers market and they only prevail because we fail to act! anyhow, so far i don't think anyone is being able to identify the mysterious role of IAA, but one thing for sure, failing to regulate the industry is one.

    thx
