Kuwait Hosts GCC Media Meeting
The GCC Joint Production Program Institution had been and is still the leading regional institution for media ever since it was established 30 years ago, said Kuwaiti Information Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah on Tuesday.
Speaking at the opening of the 39th two-day board meeting for GCC
institutions, Sheikh Sabah, who is also the institution’s board chairman,
affirmed that GCC countries must continue to support this tremendous media institution, which had proved itself to be an active and vital corporation through its thoughtful media messages and programs.
He called on GCC media personnel and officials to continue the development of their local media scenes in order to reach the level of other developed media outlets in the world. On his part, head of the GCC’s department of media and publications Dr. Ahmad Al-Dhabiyan told the delegates about the recommendations of the 39th GCC’s higher media council meeting which was held in Muscat last December with the proposals focusing on means to integrate the media in Gulf countries.
The institution’s Executive Director Abdulmohsen Al-Bannai said that the
GCC Joint Production Program Institution was planning on developing its role as the leading media group in the region through the signing of several cooperation protocols and deals with regional and international media counterparts
