i no longer work under the umbrella of C3. Salut .. true i’m a Paragonian.

and true it has been mimicked and published allover Kuwait. but there is always that chance of it being a coincidence. knowing the Kuwaiti and the gulf region market with its funky tricks the chances are higher. but hey this is why i publish my work .. the world will copyright it for me. and i’m glade there are some people that recognize my work.

To be fair with Adam here, this ad is not ’stupid’, it’s just that it is not up to the standard where it should be as per the message and the target audience, it requires more clarity on both visual and message, art direction plays a bigger role whereas to this is ad has little, but there is a ‘noble’ purpose which is a great opportunity to show creativity. There’s a million ways to better enhance this though :)

first of all i don’t think your in place or in position to be fair or not fair. you can simply give your own opinion, but it dose not mean its a valid opinion. spicily when your arguing points are week. because it seems like you have no clue of what your saying.
you don’t know who are the target audience is.
infect this concept is very well balance if you know some Lebanese history, then light bulb will lighten up in your brain. and i don’t think your well fit enough to set the standards knowing you. and if you feel. That the msg is not clear nor the visual then your defiantly not the target audience.

its directed towards brighter people that actually got it from the first glimpse.

plus there is no such thing as little or more art direction. this is a term that you’ve been brain washed within the field of advertising. You are simply a commercial ad creator. Rather then a creative artist with emotions and imagination.. im not going to explain the art work for you. i shouldn’t . This artwork has been exposed many places B4 it gets to this Blog. and it got 5 out 5 in Lebanon. in Kuwait . Montréal, and San Diego. From art directors. young mature students that are still learning. and from people that have nothing to do with the field. witch is how i gather my statistics on the feed back of the art work, rather from some one that spends the day on the blog talking shit. behind his mask.
once again. you are not the target audience it was directed to a much brighter and smarter audience. and a wide range. In Fact this art work was so good and the concept was kick ass… that they stole the idea and mimicked it to some stupid contracting company called ASICO. by some in house designer. That wont show his face.
when some one try’s to be you that’s when you know your good.
its when you set the standards’. if you know what i mean.

I am not contradicting here, Adam. I was trying to be honest with my opinions but it seems that you more of defend your work and not try to open your mind to critics and you assume pretty much. Again, If I have to take this from an artistic point of view:

The Layout is not appealing, too dark! If you’re speaking to artists
then make them look full of energy and passion, you have to be an artist to talk to artists.

Art direction? None. People won’t give a rat’s a** whether you did this using the world’s most expensive 3D program, it’s how they see your design/layout that first matters, not your CV.

The cause is nice, but for an artist, what do I get out of this?
Convince me. Frustrating? Yes it is (your project).

Art knows NO boundaries nor Nationalities, so please, don’t talk BS.

im going to explain the work for your Krea8tive it seems your a bit too slow..

the bricks and the wall is representing all the different political parties in Lebanon that has been dividing us by force.. and the planet represents nature and the bloom of the new Lebanon .. and its blooming and growing through the wall represents the act of freedom regardless of all the pressure .. and its a night shoot where every one is a sleep and some one just came across it with a flash light..

On a serious note:

It is quite a challenge to use art as a tool to communicate to artists, as we are all aware that these talented people have their own style and preferences and likings and it will be not easy to get their attention and know your message.

SO

As an artist to achieve this aim, he will be needing to ‘understand’ the target and ’speak’ their language (remember, these are artists you’re talking to). Then comes the process of definition and strategy. I think this is what people from a creative ad agency does (your ‘commercial’ people).

In a glimpse, the ‘artwork’ should get the target’s attention and understand it, if this happens, you win them. If not (like this one), you will need the whole explanation you just did attached in every reply to blogs everywhere your ad was posted for people to understand what you really meant by this.

In my opinion and to back Adam Serhan’s creation here.. i would say that the visual of the blooming plant really emphasizes that no matter what adversities may be present, in terms of politics, administration and other greedy governments and outsiders, there always will be an upsurge. And the effect of the light falling on the dark wall showing showing a glimpse of the blooming plant, really emphasizes that an uprising may not always be very visible but also can happen when no one is watching. And has history has told us many a times – the biggest of revolutions have started from the smallest of things.

The message “Freedom is an act of nature” balances beautifully with the visual, and metaphorically connects with the green plant blooming out of a brick wall again emphasizing that no matter how hard they (the so called villains) try, people with radical thoughts and ideas wont be suppressed, just like how an act of nature cannot be stopped.

I may not be a visual or a communication artist but i believe that if I not being one still can get the message clearly enough i would say an artist (the mentioned target audience here) will get it in an instant and if they don’t then, well, we have the plants and then we have the walls. and the walls can never understand the entire existence of a plant. sorry to say but those who don’t see the simplicity of the message behind this ad belong to the latter category.

With all due respect to you, accept my criticism mate, just like everyone does. That is my honest opinion, based on my experience and on what I have seen and always see.

You had a good idea, something that had potential of becoming the core of criticism for the advertising scene in Kuwait, but your blog is useless. has no value and is just a place for some people to bash, insult and release their anger towards people who initially want honest criticism and build networks and connections with like minded people which they never or RARELY get.

Your (cyber) reputation is horrible allow me to say (you can find that out yourself) and so is the ones for other people who comment here. Its a shame, but at the end of the day, you have allowed it to be a dirty, insulting battle, every time a discussion is open.

I don’t know you, and don’t know anything about you except that you used to work for C Cube.
I remember when you used to post your work on this blog (back in the days) and I remember how badly you used to take criticism. Everyone tried to constructively criticize your work but you took it personal… kind of like you’re doing here!
The fact that you’re checking this blog (and I am sure you’re doing so on a daily basis just like all of us – sometimes without even commenting) and commenting means that this blog has served its purpose… I guess its purpose of helping the advertising community (or lack there of) in Kuwait to know what is available out there and which caliber. It is in everyone’s right to comment in the way they want, and it’s up to you to take the serious criticism (and build on it) from the not so serious ones (and shove them under the rug)!
Attacking this blog won’t help you in any shape or form… You’re proving to be more childish and like everyone said at the time “can’t take criticism well”.

so you think that just because you have an artwork published in a magazine you think that you have made it as the creative director of the world!
may i say that this work is self inspired and is not based on a brief “personal project”…. this is what the magazine is saying, and “from what we can gather” any creative director is as good as the delivery on a brief.
my kids can do a better job than that when it is self inspired, it is the vision of the artist that is portrayed and not the vision of a brief!
our job is to cater to a certain need and not our own personal wishes, every creative director still has his/her university project hanging on the wall of the office as it is the best work of all, and it is all self inspired!
so mark my words you stupid stupid man…….you have an ego of an elephant and you are too self centered…. that, mr idiot, is not what an artist is all about!

jealous and they wish they are just near what im capable of doing. That’s the kind of stuff we real creative have to put up with from thus whom are envious and really up to nothing but cheap talk. and trying to bring us down because they just simply cant raise up. people know me in Kuwait and allot like my work and i don’t need the two scumbags like long face and creatifooo to come any were near my work because it’s negative energy to my work and to the field of art and specially to the creative community. Iv flushed them down my cyber toilet long a go.

OMG guys can you all read what you wrote, your all unprofessional and thats why we will stay like this for the next 10000 years.
Adam as for your artwork dear, its overdone, used and abused. I liked your layout and how you framed the plant there, but really dude, there’s no creativity or awsomeness about it, its just a design.
I’m afraid that your the type of a person who uses 3D for all his artworks, if this is your style then great, but sometimes 3D must be a side when you come to concept ads, or at least use it but in a nice way.
