Well just came back home from the Award night and to tell you the truth am pretty much impressed.

The arrangements of the whole event was faaaaaaar better than last year. Decent location (Courtyard), warm female greeters showing you the way in to your seat, good stage set up, better presenter (lebanese presenter Karen, definitely you saw her in some of the LBC entertainment programs) and a full course seated dinner . I might sound poetic discribing the whole situation but man, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WE WENT THROUGH LAST YEAR!!:))

Anyway, there were some mix-ups here and there when annoucing the winners names.. showing their work… but the weirdest thing was that some of the product categories were missing like telecom !?! Again i say, it was better than last year. Guess the reason behind this drastic change goes back to last year KREA award that teased them in a way, and if this was the case… guess Mission Accomplished :)

update 31.01.07: just knew few minutes back that the reason behind not including Telecom and Campaigns in the category list yesterday is that they had no entries but MTC-Vodafone in both, and they believed that it’s not ETHICAL to announce it just with one nominee and eventually one winner.. R THEY DAMN CRAZY ?!?!?!?!?! man, they need to watch some international awards before they do such events… not even international, let them start gradually with the regional ones first.

This is the invitaion card i received today to attend this annual event of KAAA. It’s a “not bad” kind of event they do over here in Kuwait, inviting all Advertising Agencies from the GCC to participate in an Ad Award Ceremony. Though i still don’t understand why the whole GCC but anyway, guess it’s better than nothing. Here’s last year winners list to check “link”
